As a local theatre, Northern Stage provides training opportunities for all age ranges. By offering year 10/11 students work experience, we give an insight into working in theatres. We take 2 students at a time for 1 week and repeat this 3 times each year. Although we try hard to provide corresponding dates with those which the schools have arranged, these sometimes have to be negotiated.

Each day the students will experience a different department. These include technical, communications, marketing, observing rehearsals (where possible), and FOH (Ushering and Box Office). An unforgettable experience to learn great new skills!

Demand for placements is high. If you are interested in being considered please download and complete the attached form. We aim to respond to enquiries in the following time scales:

For an autumn (Oct/Nov) placement before the end of June
For a spring (Feb/March) placement before the end of December
For a summer (May/June) placement before the end of February
