The Box Office phone line (0191 230 5151) is open 10am – 6pm Monday-Friday and 10am-4pm on Saturday. The phone line, and the theatre, is closed on Sundays.
In person, our Box Office is open from 10am-6pm Monday-Friday and 10am-4pm Saturday, on days when there are no evening performances. On performance days we will remain open until 15 minutes after the performance has started.
If booking by post please mark your envelope 'Sales Team' and make all cheques payable to Northern Stage. If these tickets are to be sent on to you, please add a further 50p to cover postal charges. Tickets should be delivered within 5 working days of booking. If your booking is made closer than 5 working days to the event, tickets will be available for collection at the Box Office.
All tickets bought online must be picked up from the Box Office at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the performance. Please bring along the method of payment used in the transaction as proof of identity. If your tickets were bought as a gift then please contact us from the email account associated with the purchase, and we will arrange for their collection by a third party.
We accept cash (in person only) cheque (with a valid cheque card) and all major credit/debit cards.
Reservations
Tickets that have been reserved and are awaiting payment will be held for 3 working days, after this time they will be put back on general sale. We cannot take ticket reservations within 48 hours of a performance.
Concessions
Discounted tickets are available to children under 16 or in full-time education, full-time students with a valid NUS card, disabled, persons aged 65 and over, or persons between 60-64 who are not working, those in receipt of State Unemployment Benefit. We try to make our theatre accessible to everyone, if you have any particular requirements please inform our Sales Team when booking tickets.
Proof of status for ALL concession seats purchased must be produced when collecting tickets from the tickets and information area.
Refunds and Exchanges
We regret ticket money cannot be refunded, except in the unlikely event of a performance being cancelled. Only the face value of the ticket will be refunded. However we can try and sell tickets on your behalf but they will only be offered for re-sale once a performance has sold out. Tickets can be exchanged for tickets for the same production up to 3 days prior to the date of performance, subject to availability. This service is free of charge, however tickets exchanged for those of a lower face value will not have any difference refunded.
2 for 1 First Nights
2 for 1 tickets are available on all full price seats for the first night of eligible performances in Stage 1. To book, choose First Night Special 2 for 1 from the ticket type menu and the discount will automatically be applied when you check out. This excludes £5.50 seats.
Family Tickets
Family tickets are available for all family shows in Stage 1, starting from £40 for two adults and two children. Your family ticket must be comprised of at least four seats, including a maximum of two adults.
In the interest of other audience members, babes in arms (under 1 year old) are generally not admitted. Exceptions may be made during Christmas performances, family focussed shows and children's shows. However, to comply with licensing regulations, a ticket must be bought for ALL children, however young.
Combined Tickets
If you are buying a combined ticket (a ticket for two events or more) your discount will be added at the checkout stage. You will need to select your first event and choose your seats and then 'Continue Shopping' and add the second event. The discount will be applied across all tickets in your basket, but will total the correct amount (for example, if you buy two combined tickets and one stand-alone ticket, the system may apply a proportional discount to all five tickets.)
Offer Codes
If you have an offer code, you will be asked to enter it at the final checkout stage of your purchase. Offer codes are for a limited period and will expire at 12 midnight on the day stated on the offer. Some events are excluded from offer codes, please check individual show pages for details. Offer codes can only be used online.
Offer codes apply to full price tickets only and exclude concessions and other sales promotions. Please check your booking carefully after entering an offer code; the ticket booking system will override any concession and sales promotion tickets in your basket (for example, an offer code will override a 2 for 1 offer, and treat them as two full price tickets which could make your total booking more expensive. Please contact our box office if you need any further help with offer codes.
STAGE 2: Money Back Guarantee
This season Stage 2 comes with a Money Back Guarantee. Simply fill out one of the "Money Back" cards when you leave, telling us why you didn't like the show. Hand it in to an usher or to anyone in the Sales Team and we'll give your money back.
Latecomers
Latecomers will be admitted at the discretion of the Manager. Please note, some performances have a strict no latecomers policy and we are unable to refund ticket purchases if you miss the performance start time. As the theatre is situated in a thriving area of the city we advise you to consider possible traffic delays or parking difficulties when planning your journey.
Programme Sales
If programmes are available for a production they can be purchased either with your tickets at the Box Office or separately. You can order programmes in advance when booking tickets by phone or online and collect them from the tickets and reception area on the day of the performance.
